NUMBER OF SUBMISSIONS RECEIVED SUPPORTING THE PEOPLE’S OPTION PROVES THAT A NON-COMMERCIALISED OPTION SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED FOR THE PUBLIC TO CONSIDER AS OF RIGHT!!!

According to a press statement released by Chair of the Auckland Region Water Review Grant Taylor, on Monday 2 April, the Auckland Region Water Review had received 2270 submissions and 3048 People’s Option postcards.

As of Tuesday 3 April, Judith Tizard’s office had logged 3984 letters to households acknowledging receipt of their People’s Option postcard submission, and had approximately another 1200 to process.
(Please note that only one letter has been sent per household, irrespective of how many members of the household had sent in postcards.)
As of Tuesday 3 April, the Auckland Region Water Review had received 4200 Postcards.

Apparently, Grant Taylor has claimed that all the postcards received supporting the People’s Option will be treated as one submission.
NO WAY!  This suggestion is totally unacceptable.

The amount of support for the non-commercialised People’s Option proves that the Auckland Region Water Review has NO MANDATE WHATSOEVER to try and spread user charges through getting the Government to change the law to allow Stand Alone Businesses to introduce user charges for wastewater, or to try and spread the commercialised or privatised model for water services in any way, shape or form.

This Auckland Region Water Review has been a total farce, a shambles, and a huge waste of public money.

We still need money!  We want an Auckland region wide water bill boycott, to make sure both local and central government politicians get a message THEY CANNOT IGNORE!!!!  User pays for water has led to user pays for wastewater.  Show your opposition to user charges for water by not paying them.

We need money to help get that message out.
